Barrow Hills, Witley, Surrey

Barrow Hills is a co-educational day school for children aged 3 to 13 years set within 40 acres of attractive gardens and playing fields some 8 miles south of Guildford. It offers children a stimulating curriculum which is sensitive to the needs of the individual. There are strong links with many senior schools such as Ampleforth College, Charterhouse, Cranleigh School, King Edwards School Witley, Priors Field, The Royal Grammar School, Seaford College, St Catherines, Tormead and Wellington College.

Their extensive Art and Design Centre offers children superb facilities to develop their creative talents in numerous disciplines including textiles, print-making, ceramics, food technology and photography. They have a modern, well equipped computing suite in the main building and all classrooms have computing resources.

In 2006 a new classroom block was opened with extensive facilities including a second computer suite. Science is taught in a dedicated science laboratory. The study of languages is important too; French is taught from the age of 3 whilst older pupils also study Latin. Music and drama play a large part in the life of the school. Many children study a musical instrument and they have a chapel choir. Each term there is a major drama production in the school hall.

The school has a Roman Catholic foundation but pupils from all denominations are most welcome. All children can participate in assemblies and other services which are held in our splendid chapel.

A wide range of sporting activities is offered including rugby, football, hockey, cricket, netball, tennis, athletics, judo and riding. The school has its own heated swimming pool. Educational visits, both locally and overseas, enhance the rich curriculum which is provided in school.
