Uniform for Alton Convent (Senior and Prep)

Alton Convent School is an independent catholic school founded in 1938 by the Sisters of Our Lady of Providence. It is situated on the outer fringes of Alton, a traditional Georgian market town. Nineteen acres of grounds offer extensive playing fields, adventure playground, woodland walks and traditional gardens.

The school takes boys and girls from age 2 years 9 months to 11 years in its prep department and girls, in the senior school, from age 11 to 18. Pupils of all faiths and backgrounds are welcomed.

The school offers a combination of all that is good and exciting in education today and great emphasis is placed on the value of pupils and the experiences they will encounter within our community. There is an infectious energy combined with a sense of focus which pervades the whole age range.

From the very beginning of school life pupils follow a carefully planned and balanced curriculum which challenges and encourages. Small classes foster a confident and independent attitude. In the first three years in the senior school girls follow a common curriculum, including modern languages, Latin and individual sciences. The GCSE range of subjects is wide and results are consistently high. Once again this year Alton Convent School appears at the top of the Hampshire league tables.

A wide range of A level courses is also available for the sixth form students and the school has maintained an unbroken tradition of 100% success in all subjects at A level since the Sixth Form Centre opened in 2000.
